NATURE TABLES

From spring...

...to summer

I love this wood lifecycle of the butterfly set: from eggs on a leaf, to caterpillar, to chrysalis, to butterfly!

Needle felted caterpillar and cocoon. For caterpillar, simply wet felt some little balls and string together. Sew buttons for eyes. You can also cut a little mouth. For the cocoon, I followed these directions but used a rock instead of a plastic Easter egg.

I love to collect Goddess rocks. Here's one with her baby!
She represents both mother Earth and the goddess, Litha.

Yup! That set-up lasted about 5 minutes! I actually had to bargain with her to "allow" me to set it up for summer and take some quick pics! She dove right in after I was done-but she played with it for like 2 hours and had so much fun! We just don't have any other out-of-the-way place to put the nature table.

Lovely!

Our nature tables are played with too...the moment we switch seasons or add something special, it is over! ;) But they look lovely for a bit, and the boys really enjoy them.

I love this nature table. Aren't nature tables wonderful? They really give me and my family something to anchor to during crazy times. Being able to see simple and beautiful nature can focus everything. Ok, that really didn't make much sense, but since you have a nature table, YOU KNOW WHAT I MEAN. lol ;)

Katie and I decided earlier today that we are going to change ours up tomorrow, too.

So much to look at! You can't blame her for wanting to play with it all, I think even I would if no one was looking! :)

Love the Goddess Rock.....for all seasons!

I am really taken with the colorful little basket that the babies in your spring photos are in. I even dreamt about it last night. Did you guys make that? Is it colored wire?

Stunning.

Thanks for all kind thoughts everyone!
You should see it NOW!! ;)

Hey Sharon! Yes-it's made of all different colored wire and STUFF: buttons, beads, bottle caps, keys, etc. I WISH I had come up with this idea!!! They are made by someone local-i'll try to get more info for you!

I have a crazy question about your "music" on your site. The Sounds of Nature- "Nature" one that is first makes my bird sing like crazy. I tried to find this at Amazon but didn't see anything that seemed right. Can you email and tell me what it is?? It is that first track. Thanks so much,
Jill in Seattle

Our nature table was meant to be played with--I had to clean it up regularly (but that was my chance to play). My girls have grown beyond nature tables, but I still try to keep a seasonal display on our dining table.

I think I will always have a nature table in my house. My daughter enjoys helping me change the scene but mostly she feels to old for it.

Hi Jill! That is SO funny about your bird!!!!! I'm not able to access your profile...
I couldn't find it either by googling. I got this web site off of the info on my playlist at Playlist.com :http://www.musicforcandles.com/movies/Sounds_of_Nature.mp3
Hope this helps and thanks for stopping by!
